REAL AUDIO & VIDEO
CMG Business Hosting uses the .ram extension to call Real Audio and Real Video files. Do not call a .rm file directly. Browsers recognize the .ram file and the browser itself calls the player and takes care of streaming. Pointing straight to the .rm file makes the browser think you want to download it. So, you create the .ram file and make the <href> (hyperlink) point to that in your page. The browser reads the commands in the .ram and executes them.

You can create a .ram file by using a simple text editor, and merely tell the browser what file you want to play. If you want to play a series of files sequentially, you just list them in that file. Here is an example:

To play one RealMedia file - (where "media" is the folder you want to have your recordings in, and you use the IP address - "welcome.rm" is the RealMedia file you would want to play)

http://999.999.999.999/media/welcome.rm

You simply create that in notepad, and save it as "welcome.ram" and then you make a hyperlink point to it. If you wanted to play more than one file sequentially, you would just list the other locations and the sound player would create sort of a playlist and play one after the other, like this...

http://999.999.999.999/media/welcome.rm
http://999.999.999.999/media/welcome1.rm
http://999.999.999.999/media/welcome2.rm

You can create your RealMedia files using the free encoder from RealNetworks called RealProducer.
